Catalyst Elements - Cleaning

How often do elements typically need to be cleaned? If elements are not cleaned do they "clog" the exhaust? Finally are elements removed to be cleaned and sent to EMIT or can they be cleaned in the field?

Your cleaning interval is typically determined by your engine condition and fuel gas, and rich burn or lean burn, some engines will produce ash quickly as a few weeks, and others may run a year and still not need cleaning. if you are looking for a maintenance schedule we recommend removing the elements every 6 months of operation blowing them out and turning the elements around, and resealing the doors and elements, then checking your emissions before your annual test and if needed sending them in for a chemical wash.
